Barry Hyatt Jeweler sells and services fine jewelry and specialize in remounting diamonds and other gemstones. If a customer is tired of the style of their current engagement or wedding ring and they wish to keep the existing stones, Barry Hyatt Jeweler can custom-design a new setting.

Customers are encouraged to glean inspiration from the showcase or bring in their own ideas. “Where before, customers would pick something from the case, these days it’s 50-50 with custom design,” said David Hyatt. “They want something that reflects their own taste, and it might be a formulation of three or four rings.”

Barry Hyatt Jeweler performs traditional wax carving, an increasingly rare art, and custom CAD design with the use of computers to create prototypes. They set all the diamonds and gemstones in-house, hand-finishing each unique piece with old world craftsmanship. They have a full shop and do all of their work on the premises.

David is a third-generation jeweler who took over the family business this February.

“It was a natural calling and I’m very excited,” said David. “I grew up in my dad’s store and wanted to work there as soon as I was old enough, and did through high school and college.”

He plans to continue on the family tradition and build the business’ grass roots, taking personal care with each aspect and adding his own touch.
